On Saturday, 26 November Holy Trinity Church hosted some of our volunteers for and Advent dinner. The proceedings included two short inputs on Virgin Mary from Muslim and Christian perspectives.

The volunteers of THI first participated in an information session where they observed part of the Mass in the Church and then given a briefing on the content and meanings of the Mass and the rituals. THI volunteers were provided with insight into the practices of the Church and various parts of the Mass and had opportunity to ask questions. It was indeed a very informative and productive session.

Then, we and a members of the congregation moved into the hall where an excellent dinner prepared by the members of the congration and THI volunteershas been served. Fr. Russell made opening remarks and explained the significance of the Advent period and how it should be observed from a Christian perspective. After the meal the two speakers shared how Virgin Mary is percieved and respected and how significant She is in each faith. This prt of the program has been found enlightening and informative by the partiicpants. It was mentioned by the speakers that Virgin Mary is indeed a common ground for the two faiths and there is almost complete overlap between the positions of the two faiths on the subject.
